Health care assistant
We are looking for enthusiastic motivated Healthcare Assistants who want to help make a difference in our residents life's. Our residents have varied conditions such as Brain Acquired Injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Diabetes, Wounds along with those who have Tracheostomies and PEGs. Not only that but our age groups vary from 31 to 94 currently. With the help from our Activity Personnel and Staff Nurses we ensure that all residents have a fulfilled day and go to bed happy.
Your role will be to improve our residents quality of life while with us, promote independence as far as possible, know our residents, their likes and dislikes, needs and preferences. You will also engage with each resident in meaningful activities, organise outings, assist the nurses with assessments and care planning, and assist our residents in the activities of daily living.
All staff are expected to arrive to work on time as per the roster, be part of the team on duty that day/night, be enthusiastic about your role and the duties you carry out, and help maintain a warm friendly family environment that is welcoming for residents, their loved ones and staff.
If you are interested in joining our team there are a few criteria that need to be met:
1- FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Assistant course completed
2- Understanding and implementation of HIQA regulations
3- Fluent English
4- Previous experience within a hospital and or nursing home setting, ideally a minimum of 1 year full time
5- Available to work day duties and night duties and one to one care
