Consultant Psychiatrist - Opportunities in General Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry - Republic of Ireland

Excellent opportunities are available for experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to work in the Republic of Ireland. There are current requirements in General Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry working on a salaried basis.

Working in a community or hospital setting, you will be well supported by a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals and Consultant colleagues. An approachable management team will guide you through the differences in the Irish system and ensure an easy transfer to the service.

You must be eligible for Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council in order to be placed in post; I would be happy to assess your experience and qualifications for registration if you get in touch. The process for registration can be very straightforward and take just 4-6 weeks depending on your training.

Salary payment will be in Euro and subject to the local taxation, salaries are generally higher than the UK and based upon years of consultant experience, with an opportunity for on calls to supplement also. These contracts can be available for short-term work or on an extended basis; generally the requirements are for 39 hours per week and the on call rota. Some flexibility may be possible if this is required to facilitate regular travel back to family in the UK for example.
