Barretstown provides a unique programme of Therapeutic Recreation for children with serious illnesses and their family members from Ireland, Britain and up to 9 other European countries each year.
These children have been diagnosed with cancer or serious blood diseases and other chronic illness and attend Barretstown for various camps.
We are now seeking a registered nurse to join our medical team on a part-time basis. With primary responsibility for providing direct medical care; this position will work closely with the Nursing Director and the nursing team in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the medical centre.
The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with a paediatric qualification and at least 2 year's postgraduate experience. This position requires flexibility, strong organisational, interpersonal and communications skills and an ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment. The candidate must hold current registration with An Bord Altranais (The Irish Nursing Board).
Our camp calendar runs from February to November, and this role will work in the region of 950 hours per year. Camps run over weekends in spring and autumn and over the full week in summer. The roster will include both day and night shifts during camps.
